"It is not simply a good book about history. It is one of those books which makes history. ... "
-- Vladimir Bukovsky, co-founder of the Soviet dissident movement and author of Judgment in Moscow, and Pavel Stroilov, author of Behind the Desert Storm.
"Diana West is distinguished from almost all political commentators because she seeks less to defend ideas and proposals than to investigate and understand what happens and what has happened. This gives her modest and unpretentious books and articles the status of true scientific inquiry, shifting the debate from the field of liking and disliking to being and non-being."
-- Olavo de Carvalho
If you're looking for something to read, this is the most dazzling, mind-warping book I have read in a long time. It has been criticized by the folks at Front Page, but they don't quite get what Ms. West has set out to do and accomplished. I have a whole library of books on communism, but -- "Witness" excepted -- this may be the best.
-- Jack Cashill, author of Deconstructing Obama: The Lives, Loves and Letters of America's First Postmodern President and First Strike: TWA Flight 800 and the Attack on America
"Every once in a while, something happens that turns a whole structure of preconceived ideas upside down, shattering tales and narratives long taken for granted, destroying prejudice, clearing space for new understanding to grow. Diana West's latest book, American Betrayal, is such an event."
-- Henrik Raeder Clausen, Europe News
West's lesson to Americans: Reality can't be redacted, buried, fabricated, falsified, or omitted. Her book is eloquent proof of it.
-- Edward Cline, Family Security Matters
"I have read it, and agree wholeheartedly."
-- Angelo Codevilla, Professor Emeritus of International Relations at Boston Unversity, and fellow of the Claremont Institute.
Enlightening. I give American Betrayal five stars only because it is not possible to give it six.
-- John Dietrich, formerly of the Defense Intelligence Agency and author of The Morgenthau Plan: Soviet Influence on American Postwar Policy.
After reading American Betrayal and much of the vituperation generated by neoconservative "consensus" historians, I conclude that we cannot ignore what West has demonstrated through evidence and cogent argument.
-- John Dale Dunn, M.D., J.D., Journal of American Physicians and Surgeons
"A brilliantly researched and argued book."
-- Edward Jay Epstein, author of Deception: The Invisible War between the KGB and the CIA, The Annals 0f Unsolved Crime
"This explosive book is a long-needed answer to court histories that continue to obscure key facts about our backstage war with Moscow. Must-reading for serious students of security issues and Cold War deceptions, both foreign and domestic."
-- M. Stanton Evans, author of Stalin's Secret Agents and Blacklisted by History: The Untold Story of Senator Joe McCarthy and His Fight Against America's Enemies
Her task is ambitious; her sweep of crucial but too-little-known facts of history is impressive; and her arguments are eloquent and witty. ... American Betrayal is one of those books that will change the way many of us see the world.
-- Susan Freis Falknor, Blue Ridge Forum
"American Betrayal is absolutely required reading. Essential. You're sleepwalking without it."
-- Chris Farrell, director of investigations research, Judicial Watch
"Diana West wrote a brilliant book called American Betrayal, which I recommend to everybody ... It is a seminal work that will grow in importance."
-- Newt Gingrich, former House Speaker
"This is a must read for any serious student of history and anyone working to understand the Marxist counter-state in America."
-- John Guandolo, president, Understanding the Threat, former FBI special agent
It is myth, or a series of myths, concerning WW2 that Diana West is aiming to replace with history in 2013’s American Betrayal.
If West’s startling revisionism is anywhere near the historical truth, the book is what Nietzsche wished his writings to be, dynamite.
-- Mark Gullick, British Intelligence
“What Diana West has done is to dynamite her way through several miles of bedrock. On the other side of the tunnel there is a vista of a new past. Of course folks are baffled. Few people have the capacity to take this in. Her book is among the most well documented I have ever read. It is written in an unusual style viewed from the perspective of the historian—but it probably couldn’t have been done any other way.”
-- Lars Hedegaard, historian, journalist, founder, Danish Free Press Society
The polemics against your Betrayal have a familiar smell: The masters of the guild get angry when someone less worthy than they are ventures into the orchard in which only they are privileged to harvest. The harvest the outsider brought in, they ritually burn.
-- Hans Jansen, former professor of Islamic Thought, University of Utrecht
No book has ever frightened me as much as American Betrayal. ... [West] patiently builds a story outlining a network of subversion so bizarrely immense that to write it down will seem too fantastic to anyone without the book’s detailed breadth and depth. It all adds up to a story so disturbing that it has changed my attitude to almost everything I think about how the world actually is. ... By the time you put the book down, you have a very different view of America’s war aims and strategies. The core question is, did the USA follow a strategy that served its own best interests, or Stalin’s? And it’s not that it was Stalin’s that is so compelling, since you knew that had to be the answer, but the evidence in detail that West provides that makes this a book you cannot ignore.
-- Steven Kates, RMIT (Australia) Associate Professor of Economics, Quadrant
"Diana West's new book rewrites WWII and Cold War history not by disclosing secrets, but by illuminating facts that have been hidden in plain sight for decades. Furthermore, she integrates intelligence and political history in ways never done before."
-- Jeffrey Norwitz, former professor of counterterrorism, Naval War College
[American Betrayal is] the most important anti-Communist book of our time ... a book that can open people's eyes to the historical roots of our present malaise ... full of insights, factual corroboration, and psychological nuance.
-- J.R. Nyquist, author, Origins of the Fourth World War
Although I know [Christopher] Andrew well, and have met [Oleg] Gordievsky twice, I now doubt their characterization of Hopkins -- also embraced by Radosh and the scholarly community. I now support West's conclusions after rereading KGB: The Inside Story account 23 years later [relevant passages cited in American Betrayal]. It does not ring true that Hopkins was an innocent dupe dedicated solely to defeating the Nazis. Hopkins comes over in history as crafty, secretive and no one's fool, hardly the personality traits of a naïve fellow traveler. And his fingerprints are on the large majority of pro-Soviet policies implemented by the Roosevelt administration. West deserves respect for cutting through the dross that obscures the evidence about Hopkins, and for screaming from the rooftops that the U.S. was the victim of a successful Soviet intelligence operation.
-- Bernie Reeves, founder of The Raleigh Spy Conference, American Thinker
Diana West’s American Betrayal — a remarkable, novel-like work of sorely needed historical re-analysis — is punctuated by the Cassandra-like quality of “multi-temporal” awareness. ... But West, although passionate and direct, is able to convey her profoundly disturbing, multi-temporal narrative with cool brilliance, conjoining meticulous research, innovative assessment, evocative prose, and wit.
-- Andrew G. Bostom, PJ Media
Do not be dissuaded by the controversy that has erupted around this book which, if you insist on complete accuracy, would be characterized as a disinformation campaign.
-- Jed Babbin, The American Spectator
In American Betrayal, Ms. West's well-established reputation for attacking "sacred cows" remains intact. The resulting beneficiaries are the readers, especially those who can deal with the truth.

In these totalitarian times, we must recognize that news is not to be found in "news" media.
That includes news of grievous suffering and death caused by the experimental Covid Injection Program, that massive genetic alteration of our bodies at the cell level currently underway in a monstrous feat of coercion by our government in the guise of safeguarding public health.
Such vital news does not appear in the "news" media that is overwhelmingly Democrat, or in the news media that "identifies" conservative.
Instead, they deal in propaganda and Kabuki stuff -- oh, and, for example, from internet flagship Breitbart News, the 100 percent obnoxious 24/7 promotion of editor Alexander Marlow's tauntingly titled book, "Breaking the News." (Pro tip: A book blurb is not a news...

China and Fauci are practically distractions from the architects and architecture of our destruction.
Focusing on them gives us only tunnel vision. It's rather like indicting Russian intelligence officers (Mueller) and hammering Rosenstein or Comey.
Controlled opposition is once again shrinking the Big Picture.
But what is the Big Picture? Does anyone see it? I don't think so. The most serious impact of communist subversion may well have been to chop our perception and understanding into tiny pieces. Even those who get it, can't get to it.
Please join me at my Patreon channel for a discussion of communist efforts to keep us from knowing that which we need to know to survive. I take in the excellent book...

Putting together a couple of graphs I posted recently, I see cause and effect.
Graph A tracks reports to the CDC's Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS) of vaccine-linked deaths between 1990 and just the first few months of 2021. Even without being able to see the numbers, the astronomical spike on the right side of the chart (2021), still climbing, makes it clear that Covid "vaccines" -- which are not "vaccines" at all but rather new, untested, experimental injections of gene therapy -- present an unsustainable public health risk and should be halted ASAP.
That wouldn't save my neighbor at the end...

Dying suddenly at home on May 7, Tawny Kitaen made big headlines for the first time in many years, also drawing my eye for the first time ever. Who was this woman whose death at age 59 led the Daily Mail on Page One, inspired a tender obit in the New York Times and a full round of entertainment and celebrity write-ups?
Tawny Kitaen was a zeitgeist girl of the 1980s, a "video vixen" on emerging MTV, which had aimed a new vector of sexualized pop culture -- music videos -- at middle America and its children. Suddenly, in a new way, every teen, and then every "tween," was a "soft" porn consumer, and we were all off on the yellow brick road to Cardi B. But I digress. Tawny Kitaen pulled off that road a long time ago, and it certainly wasn't her doing. Growing up, she found herself moving in the middle of a fast-moving culture, and she jumped in, age 14. It was at Peter...

Also highlighted are some recent "forbidden" readings and other suppressed and censored sources to contribute to everyone's right to informed consent, which government, media and social media continue to throttle and trample.
An extremely important piece of information has since come to my attention. It is from an interview by Alex Newman of Dr. Peter McCullough. What Dr. McCullough has added to the virtual underground debate is some all-important context, without which we cannot come to rational conclusions about anything.
Asked to assess the risk of injury or death from the Covid vaccines, tallied (and grossly under-tallied)...

A proper dictatorship must have political prisoners. And so the Biden-Harris regime, whose November 3, 2020 coup de fraude was certified by all three corrupt branches of power by January 6, 2021, has exactly that: a burgeoning Gulag in the militarized nation's capital.

UK: Police Break Down Door, Arrest Man For Violating COVID Quarantine Rules
I have posted Watson's story in full below. Kudos to him for bringing this act of police state terrorism to light.
But then what? We watch, we recoil, we blow our tops. The surrealism of the charge -- failing to quarantine in a hotel -- is as destablizing as its enforcers: young, soft, masked. They have just shattered the glass pane of a door, broken it down, terrified a little dog, invaded an Englishman's-home-is-his-castle, trampled the sovereign rights of the man and woman inside. But only a faint smugness escapes their masks. They convey the humanity of a motherboard as they make their arrest.
But then what?

President Trump just doesn't stop pushing the injection of experimental gene therapies into Americans (imaginatively known as the "covid vaccine"), not even as the CDC counts 2,342 vaccine deaths between December 14, 2020 and April 1, 2021, along with nearly 8,000 "serious" injuries. In his pre-presidential life, however, Trump was more in line with vaccine skeptics. Shortly before entering the White House in 2017, he even tapped Robert Kennedy Jr., one of the nation's leading and most eloquent vaccine skeptics, to chair a vaccine safety commission.

A few weeks ago, I wrote an essay calling for the release of Thomas Caldwell, a retired naval officer who is one of hundreds of American patriots undergoing Soviet show-trial-style persecution by the US Justice Department for coming out to support the re-election of President Trump on Capitol Hill on January 6.
Like so many of these cases, a careful reading of the court documents reveals the case to be especially egregious. It is apparent that the government has "mounted a deeply flawed case based on reckless and numerous errors about the accused. These errors alone should lead to the case's dismissal," as I wrote last month.
Now. Sharon Caldwell, retired Lt Commander Caldwell's wife, writes in:
Dear Ms. West,

Keeping the airwaves free of election fraud
--
Sanity check: Biden wasn't "elected." He was installed in a complex, all-government, both parties, media-wide coup. He and his fake vice president are puppets of forces that remain unknown to us.
However, now it is Victor Davis Hanson, who, never mind the garden-variety critique (Biden suffers from "meglomania), dispenses with 2020 election fraud and declares Biden the winner:
Biden got elected by unleashing others to insist that he was a healer, not a boisterous Trump-style divider, and by enlisting special interests to redefine how we vote.
"By enlisting special interests to redefine how we vote"?
My hat is off to Hanson for the remarkable phraseology by which he is able to make every kind...

I have been thinking about moments when it appeared the truth would not only out but triumph and thought back to a blistering "told you so" phrase attributed to Robert Conquest and wondered when it was he was moved to say it.
It turns out he he didn't say it -- a relief, I must say since, however justified, it always made me wince. In a 2007 letter to the editor of the New York Review of Books, Conquest informs the public that it was "the ever-inventive" Kingsley Amis, not he, who coined the phrase.
The record, though, plays on.

Last week, I wrote a story about the extraordinary, weaselly language Mike Pence used on January 6, as President of the Senate, to avoid counting the alternate slates of Trump electors from seven states.
The story was based on the findings of Politico reporter Kyle Cheney, who, in a tweet around 3 am on January 7, compared what Pence had said to introduce electors with what his vice presidential predecessors had said in the same role in 2005, 2009, 2013, and 2017.

Radio Pacifica may not be my ordinary beat but I would listen to Rosa Koire anywhere.
This extremely well-done one-hour interview by "Guns and Butter" is an excellent primer as to who Rosa Koire is and how she came to be a critic, pre-eminent de-mystifier and Paul Revere of "Agenda 21" the plan for our global servitude drawn up at the United Nations under the "green mask," as Rosa calls it, of environmentalism.
Agenda 21 is also executed against us in the guise of "The Great Reset," the globalist highway to subjugated humanity on which President Donald J. Trump was a roadblock and thus had to be thrown to the curb by the coup of November 3 to January 6. It is overwhelming to imagine the black-hole-immensity of the conspiracy that was required to nullify Trump's landlslide re-election of 2020.

True story. Yesterday, as stories disparaging Sidney Powell's motion to dismiss Dominion's $1.3 billion defamation lawsuit began mounting up, all of them seizing on a few words from her lawyers' brief to the point that "no reasonable person" would conclude that her publicly discussed findings against Dominion were "statements of fact," I knew something was wrong with this narrative, obviously. The idea that Sidney Powell would put forward a Dumb Blonde argument to discredit herself in defense of herself was and is ludicrous.
I wasted a few minutes yesterday looking for a piece of journalism that colored outside these crudely drawn party lines and found not a one. Not a one! No surprise but the absence of basic expository journalism clarifies one of the crises we face as a post-democratic society. There is no functioning Fourth Estate, there are only propaganda organs...

Some troops have drawn equivalencies between the Jan. 6 riot at the U.S. Capitol and last year's protests for racial justice during recent stand-downs to address extremism, worrying the military's top enlisted leader.
"Equivalencies" strikes me as an odd reach of a word to describe what are better understood comparisons. In any case, the Pentagon is upset about them.

“Forty-two days into the administration and still no solo press conference from Joe Biden. That is the longest stretch of silence from any new president in at least a century.”
--Tucker Carlson, March 3, 2021
Some called this a "blistering" attack; a "brutal" message. I call it complicity, and I will have no part of it. By comparing Joe Biden to "any new president," Tucker Carlson is normalizing the fraudulent elections across the contested states and elsewhere, and thus perpetuating the Big Lie that Biden is legitimate.
But it gets worse:
So by refusing to speak directly to the media, Joe Biden is attacking our most cherished democratic norms. Even CNN is complaining about it.
Let me get this straight. Biden's failure to speak to the media that enabled the Biden-Harris gang's usurpation of power is "attacking" "our most cherished democratic...

When you were a kid (or a mom) and saw "Lady and the Tramp," did you ever dream you would wake up and read this in the paper?
From the Daily Mail:
The Walt Disney Company holds monthly meetings with advocates from women and minority groups who comb through hundreds of hours of Disney-streamed content looking for potentially offensive material to flag.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the monthly zoom meetings are held between Disney officials and a so-called ‘third-party advisory council.’
The council includes representatives from the African American Film Critics Association; CAPE (Coalition of Asian Pacifics in Entertainment); Define American; the Geena Davis Institute on Gender...

More discussion of Trump's speech at my Patreon channel here.

On the matter of whether President Trump's speech at CPAC uplifted or depressed:
I could not have been more depressed while listening to Part 1. It was a stump speech without a stump. Every reference to the terrible things "the Biden administration" is doing to our country without first and foremost establishing the regime's illegitimacy has the effect of normalizing that regime. It wasn't enough for Trump to flick at maybe having to win the presidency for a "third" time, either. I felt as though we were watching the debut of Trump's capitulation to the Narrative. C-PAC, after all, has a long tradition of enforcing capitulations when it comes to the existential threats of the moment, including immigration,...

As the President of the United States finished his speech at CPAC tonight, poof, a new movement was born.

This investigation is a continuation of the greatest political Witch Hunt in the history of our Country, whether it was the never ending $32 million Mueller hoax, which already investigated everything that could possibly be investigated, “Russia Russia Russia,” where there was a finding of “No Collusion,” or two ridiculous “Crazy Nancy” inspired impeachment attempts where I was found NOT GUILTY. It just never ends!
So now, for more than two years, New York City has been looking at almost every transaction I’ve ever done, including seeking tax returns which were done by among the biggest and most prestigious law and accounting firms in the U.S. The Tea Party was treated far better by the IRS than Donald Trump. The Supreme Court never should have let this “fishing expedition” happen, but they did. This is something which has never happened to a President before, it is all...
