American Betrayal

FINALLY -- IN AUDIOBOOK!

ALSO AVAILABLE IN PAPERBACK

"It is not simply a good book about history. It is one of those books which makes history. ... "

-- Vladimir Bukovsky, co-founder of the Soviet dissident movement and author of Judgment in Moscow, and Pavel Stroilov, author of Behind the Desert Storm.

"Diana West is distinguished from almost all political commentators because she seeks less to defend ideas and proposals than to investigate and understand what happens and what has happened. This gives her modest and unpretentious books and articles the status of true scientific inquiry, shifting the debate from the field of liking and disliking to being and non-being."

-- Olavo de Carvalho

If you're looking for something to read, this is the most dazzling, mind-warping book I have read in a long time. It has been criticized by the folks at Front Page, but they don't quite get what Ms. West has set out to do and accomplished. I have a whole library of books on communism, but -- "Witness" excepted -- this may be the best.

-- Jack Cashill, author of Deconstructing Obama: The Lives, Loves and Letters of America's First Postmodern President and First Strike: TWA Flight 800 and the Attack on America

"Every once in a while, something happens that turns a whole structure of preconceived ideas upside down, shattering tales and narratives long taken for granted, destroying prejudice, clearing space for new understanding to grow. Diana West's latest book, American Betrayal, is such an event."

-- Henrik Raeder Clausen, Europe News

West's lesson to Americans: Reality can't be redacted, buried, fabricated, falsified, or omitted. Her book is eloquent proof of it.

-- Edward Cline, Family Security Matters

"I have read it, and agree wholeheartedly."

-- Angelo Codevilla, Professor Emeritus of International Relations at Boston Unversity, and fellow of the Claremont Institute.

Enlightening. I give American Betrayal five stars only because it is not possible to give it six.

-- John Dietrich, formerly of the Defense Intelligence Agency and author of The Morgenthau Plan: Soviet Influence on American Postwar Policy.

After reading American Betrayal and much of the vituperation generated by neoconservative "consensus" historians, I conclude that we cannot ignore what West has demonstrated through evidence and cogent argument.

-- John Dale Dunn, M.D., J.D., Journal of American Physicians and Surgeons

"A brilliantly researched and argued book."

-- Edward Jay Epstein, author of Deception: The Invisible War between the KGB and the CIA, The Annals 0f Unsolved Crime

"This explosive book is a long-needed answer to court histories that continue to obscure key facts about our backstage war with Moscow. Must-reading for serious students of security issues and Cold War deceptions, both foreign and domestic."

-- M. Stanton Evans, author of Stalin's Secret Agents and Blacklisted by History: The Untold Story of Senator Joe McCarthy and His Fight Against America's Enemies

Her task is ambitious; her sweep of crucial but too-little-known facts of history is impressive; and her arguments are eloquent and witty. ... American Betrayal is one of those books that will change the way many of us see the world.

-- Susan Freis Falknor, Blue Ridge Forum

"American Betrayal is absolutely required reading. Essential. You're sleepwalking without it."

-- Chris Farrell, director of investigations research, Judicial Watch

"Diana West wrote a brilliant book called American Betrayal, which I recommend to everybody ... It is a seminal work that will grow in importance."

-- Newt Gingrich, former House Speaker

"This is a must read for any serious student of history and anyone working to understand the Marxist counter-state in America."

-- John Guandolo, president, Understanding the Threat, former FBI special agent

It is myth, or a series of myths, concerning WW2 that Diana West is aiming to replace with history in 2013’s American Betrayal.

If West’s startling revisionism is anywhere near the historical truth, the book is what Nietzsche wished his writings to be, dynamite.

-- Mark Gullick, British Intelligence

“What Diana West has done is to dynamite her way through several miles of bedrock. On the other side of the tunnel there is a vista of a new past. Of course folks are baffled. Few people have the capacity to take this in. Her book is among the most well documented I have ever read. It is written in an unusual style viewed from the perspective of the historian—but it probably couldn’t have been done any other way.”

-- Lars Hedegaard, historian, journalist, founder, Danish Free Press Society

The polemics against your Betrayal have a familiar smell: The masters of the guild get angry when someone less worthy than they are ventures into the orchard in which only they are privileged to harvest. The harvest the outsider brought in, they ritually burn.

-- Hans Jansen, former professor of Islamic Thought, University of Utrecht

No book has ever frightened me as much as American Betrayal. ... [West] patiently builds a story outlining a network of subversion so bizarrely immense that to write it down will seem too fantastic to anyone without the book’s detailed breadth and depth. It all adds up to a story so disturbing that it has changed my attitude to almost everything I think about how the world actually is. ... By the time you put the book down, you have a very different view of America’s war aims and strategies. The core question is, did the USA follow a strategy that served its own best interests, or Stalin’s? And it’s not that it was Stalin’s that is so compelling, since you knew that had to be the answer, but the evidence in detail that West provides that makes this a book you cannot ignore.

-- Steven Kates, RMIT (Australia) Associate Professor of Economics, Quadrant

"Diana West's new book rewrites WWII and Cold War history not by disclosing secrets, but by illuminating facts that have been hidden in plain sight for decades. Furthermore, she integrates intelligence and political history in ways never done before."

-- Jeffrey Norwitz, former professor of counterterrorism, Naval War College

[American Betrayal is] the most important anti-Communist book of our time ... a book that can open people's eyes to the historical roots of our present malaise ... full of insights, factual corroboration, and psychological nuance.

-- J.R. Nyquist, author, Origins of the Fourth World War

Although I know [Christopher] Andrew well, and have met [Oleg] Gordievsky twice, I now doubt their characterization of Hopkins -- also embraced by Radosh and the scholarly community. I now support West's conclusions after rereading KGB: The Inside Story account 23 years later [relevant passages cited in American Betrayal]. It does not ring true that Hopkins was an innocent dupe dedicated solely to defeating the Nazis. Hopkins comes over in history as crafty, secretive and no one's fool, hardly the personality traits of a naïve fellow traveler. And his fingerprints are on the large majority of pro-Soviet policies implemented by the Roosevelt administration. West deserves respect for cutting through the dross that obscures the evidence about Hopkins, and for screaming from the rooftops that the U.S. was the victim of a successful Soviet intelligence operation.

-- Bernie Reeves, founder of The Raleigh Spy Conference, American Thinker

Diana West’s American Betrayal — a remarkable, novel-like work of sorely needed historical re-analysis — is punctuated by the Cassandra-like quality of “multi-temporal” awareness. ... But West, although passionate and direct, is able to convey her profoundly disturbing, multi-temporal narrative with cool brilliance, conjoining meticulous research, innovative assessment, evocative prose, and wit.

-- Andrew G. Bostom, PJ Media

Do not be dissuaded by the controversy that has erupted around this book which, if you insist on complete accuracy, would be characterized as a disinformation campaign.

-- Jed Babbin, The American Spectator

In American Betrayal, Ms. West's well-established reputation for attacking "sacred cows" remains intact. The resulting beneficiaries are the readers, especially those who can deal with the truth.

Interesting exchange between J6 attorney Joseph D. McBride and conservative talker Monica Matthews:

"People are worried about the Chinese when they should be worried about the FBI," McBride  yesterday.

"Are they mutually exclusive now?" asked Matthews.

"Not really," replied McBride. "But only one of them is currently kicking in grandma's door."

McBride is right. The FBI is of greater concern to Americans than China. But Matthews is correct to put the FBI and Red China in the same category; both are enemies of our God-given liberties. As deployed by the Justice Department of the illegitimate Biden Regime, the FBI has become the shock troops of despotism. Such despotism includes not only the illegitimate Biden Regime,...

Join me at my Patreon channel to discuss the secret army of government informants and provocateurs,  who waged a dirty war to create an insurrection that is now abundantly confirmed to have been a "fed-surrection."

Several hours ago, Twitter account @OVERWATCHJ6 posted seven and a half minutes of Rumble video of undercover MPD provocateurs mixing into the crowd of patriot-protestors at the Capitol on January 6. After making a beeline for the action at the scaffolding, the officers, dressed to blend with the Trump supporters, start their ascent, exhorting everyone around them upward and onward.

@OVERWATCHJ6 calls the video "January 6 Care Package," and describes it as follows: "The opportunity of defeating the enemy is provided by the enemy himself."

Curtis Bowers and I sat down last week to discuss a subject near and dear to my heart: my three books, how and why they came about, how they connect, and other matters authors don't necessarily realize until they are asked the question.

Hope you enjoy the interview.

Join me at my Patreon channel to discuss The New Reality.

The New Reality is different from the New Normal. It's harder to understand, and people always have problems adjusting to it. They tend to cling to the last thing they thought they knew and never notice they have run into a labyrinth of brick walls.

That's partly because so much of we "knew" was always incorrect -- the rule of thumb I now use being that if it is out front and visible, it is only the puppet show. Reality is behind the scenes, and we need to imagine new ways to approach the dark and impenetrable.

"Virus Communism," anyone?

As one of Celia Farber's readers comments on her Substack column today, "You've so beautifully translated the horror." The horror being the world we live in, three years later. Today.

From "An Unnecessary Expression":

They began so long ago, flogging and inverting the best in us, shaming us for opposing our own extinction, which we were supposed to thank them for. We all had to get dragged into this algorithm of madness, because of their ‘virus’ obsession, which—do you believe me now—is insatiable. No amount of human sacrifice will ever sate it. A bunch of nothing people, who somehow pulled off 9/11 on steroids every day while we weren’t paying attention.

It can’t ever unhappen. The children found dead in their beds—

Who wants to even imagine what nurses witnessed on maternity wards, or how they came up with new language to deflect all normal reactions,...

The former Lewis Rosenstiel home at 5 East 80th Street, Manhattan

---

A few weeks ago, I published Part One of "Fact-Checking Whitney Webb," an occasional series I began at Webb's behest. Fact-check my endnotes, the author of One Nation Under Blackmail has said, her interviewers' mouths agape with her clinical tales of sodomy and gommorah. Everything I'm saying/writing has a source.

Really? OK. A more pertinent question is whether these sources are credible. I began this investigation examining the sources for Webb's X-rated claims that J. Edgar Hoover wore women's clothing during homosexual orgies at a midtown Manhattan landmark, and was snapped in photos during homosexual encounters which (1) "intelligence" and "organized crime" used to blackmail him, and (2), in turn, impelled him to blackmail others.

In Part One,...

Here is an important story I've had a strong feeling about for a long time, although I have only nipped at the ankles with a headline here and there: the accelerated creation of the world's leading digitized state, Ukraine. The synchronous descent into tyranny over "covid" -- perhaps the first official act of  world government -- gave the project the first significant boost. The war in Ukraine -- perhaps the second official act of world government -- has driven the project to new heights (lows) in the de-humanizing process of digitization.

This excellent report on how it was done and by whom is by Dan Cohen of Redacted News. Watch for all the top meta-creeps, including Samantha Power, USAID, Elon Musk's Star Link, and Mykhailo Federov, who is one of those aggressive-precocious post-apparatchik types.

One of the most informative accounts on Telegram belongs to Dr. Mike Yeadon and Robin Monotti. Below, I am posting an introductory note from Dr. Yeadon on a letter from a former policeman to the British officials leading the UK government's "independent" inquiry into the UK government's behavior during "the pandemic."

The former policeman's letter makes it very clear that the inquiry underway in Britain is manned by foxes investigating how other foxes conducted themselves inside the henhouse. Nothing new here; just for the record.

Dr. Yeadon writes:

Former policeman, Mark Sexton, wrote this [letter below] to the chair of the enquiry & lead barrister, inviting its dissemination.

Britain is famous for its enquiries, which are designed, scoped and staffed with reliable people. In this way they’re guaranteed not to find anything important or anyone guilty...

If we still believed what they told us, taught us, ordered us to live by and fight for, this headline would be unbelievable.

"USMC recruit discharged, harassed, and barred from service after refusing to become an FBI informant for $250,000"

But now we know who they are and what they do. Just look at what they -- FBI / DOJ -- have done and continue to do to 20 year Special Forces Master Sergeant Jeremy Brown for his refusal to become a government informant prior to January 6. It seems likely that Uncle Sam, that dude Jeremy went to war for, even resorted to planting evidence in order to frame him and other members of the Oathkeepers after the FBI "found" two hand grenades in a vest during a search of Brown's home in Florida in September 2021, over eight months after January...

Join me at my Patreon channel to discuss The Seymour Hersh Story and to ponder this:

If, as Hersh's source quite plausibly claims, we blew up Russia's Nord Stream pipeline, who is "we"?

Thanks to one of my channel's subscribers, here, transcribed, is what I'm trying to get at:

“Just in terms of trying to figure out who the players are, what side are we on… Who knows?! Who is working with whom at odds against American interests, regardless of who’s in control of this regime [the Biden Admin]. The regime is not working in American interests. There’s no way that you can convey American interests by opening your own border, destroying your own border, and then going to the mat for another country’s border… It’s not in American interests; there’s somebody else’s...

I have read the Seymour Hersh story. It's plausible, to be sure; however, it is based on a single, unnamed source. That means the reader must necessarily rely on Hersh to have done due diligence -- and even then, well, everyone is fallible. Meanwhile, it is naive to assume that anyone at Hersh's level of access, whether his level of access to top sources, or their level of access to top information, does not agendas that lurk between the lines.

Hersh describes the source of his Nord Stream article as having "direct knowledge of the operational planning" and "the process." This source could well have relayed the facts as they happened; he or she could well have relayed something else. Hersch, too, could be relaying what a manipulative source convinced him were the facts as they happened; and so on, and so on.

Let's revisit the piece, critically.

My object today is to check the veracity of some key sources of the thesis of Whitney Webb's two-volume-work, One Nation Under Blackmail.

Why am I doing this? Because Whitney Webb asked me to. She's asked all of us to "engage more" with the source material in her endnotes, to "fact-check" her research. Indeed, like Gary Hart before that "Monkey Business" business, Webb often issues this challenge while promoting her briskly selling book in online interviews.

OK. I've accepted the challenge. For the past several weeks, I have been discussing what I have found out about Webb's research at my Patreon channel, which I am making available here (J. Edgar Hoover), here (late...

Seen in Barnes & Noble today in Ashburn, Virginia.

Very nice display for any book -- but especially one that came out in 2013.

This week's battle against the fatal inexorability of "Speaker McCarthy" seemed a little different from Swamp business as usual. There was, of course, the very public power struggle between Obstacle and Ambition, which went forward in an unscripted and, especially after the last stand of the House Holdouts, dramatic fashion (see above).

But such struggles are not unprecedented. Readers of this blog know that since the Coup of 2020, I have turned away from the kabuki antics of the fake branches of government; nevertheless, something captured my attention here. I think was the way in which the visceral nature of this power struggle was elevated by rhetoric of Rep. Matt Gaetz, who really did speak truth to the corrupt power structure, which exists because it is supported, enabled, perpetuated by a uniparty of McCarthy Republicans and Social Democrats alike and vice versa.

Today is Day 2.

Human Events reports:

Archbishop Carlo Maria Vigano intends to hold a 3-day fast from January 3rd to 5th in support of those who are still detained on January 6 related charges. 964 individuals have been charged with crimes, many of them misdemeanors, related to January 6, and 465 pleaded guilty. Hundreds are still languishing in DC-area jails awaiting trial.

In a letter exclusively obtained by Human Events, Archbishop Carlo Maria Vigano, the former Apostolic Nuncio to the United States, said "I hope that this initiative will find many adherents, in a spirit of true reparation of the innumerable sins and grave betrayals committed."

"I can only encourage and bless this commendable gesture of penance, to be accompanied by prayer – above all the Holy Rosary – for the beloved Nation which I had the privilege of knowing during my officeas Apostolic Nuncio," he said.

Ukraine

--

The New York Times reports (actually):

President Volodymyr Zelensky of Ukraine has signed off on legislation that would significantly expand the government’s regulatory power over the news media, a measure that journalists have warned will erode press freedom.

Mr. Zelensky, whose administration has been criticized for undermining press freedoms, ordered the drafting of a law increasing media regulation in 2019.

The measure was passed by Ukraine’s Parliament earlier this month along with a spate of other bills that lawmakers say were intended to help the country meet the European Union’s legislative conditions for membership. The bills included measures...

Right Now Views not only has the story, it has the video -- a surreal, painful, horrifying footage shot from a phone of a quiet street in Sherman Oaks, California, where I went to school a long time ago. This week, a jackbooted posse of federales jammed into a pick-up truck was deploiyed to arrest Eric Christie, for "January 6."

Does anyone believe the feds really needed the full metal jacket or whatever SWAT team to bring in Christie, a.k.a. "Fags for Trump"? Of course not. What we are witnessing state terrorism in action, solely designed to frighten, demoralize and subdue American citizens -- the first step in the government's assault on due process, which is the very basis of justice.

Political persecution by the regime continues.

Oh, the legal niceties: The "Bar Association" ... how august, how educated, how reverent of "the Law" -- my eye.

No matter how many rules, arguments, or credentialed officers of the court, they fail to cover the sound of jackbookts stomping. What a dark day. The president's lawyer, America's mayor, the prosecutor who busted the mob, facing disbarment ... for fighting against a stolen election.

To be sure, this outrage begins to answer Celia Farber's question: "Why is Rudy Giuliani the only one who wants to prosecute the Biden Crime Family?"

They rest are either in it, or they're afraid.

Service to this country is one of the hallmarks of the politically persecuted, politically prosecuted J6ers. Reading even a little deeply into the bare-bones reports -- seemingly stripped of any "human interest" aspect so as to supress stirrings of reader-sympathy -- tells us that military service, also police work, is quite common. So is are burgeoning families. Quite a few J6ers have children, often young children. Some of them ran businesses before they were arrested. Not surprisingly -- but well worth keeping in mind -- prior criminal activity is extremely rare. You could even say that many of the patriots who stood up in protest of the coup d'etat of 2020 were bona fide pillars of their communities.

All of which underscores the fact that the so-called crimes J6ers allegedly committed are almost always first offenses!

Nonetheless, the US government continues to throw the book at these American patriots, treating them  like career-criminals and dangerous terrorists. Let me qualify that last statement. Rather, it is the illegitimate regime that completely replaced the US government which is throwing the book at them, treating them like career criminals and dangerous terrorists. Which makes sense. To Them, the Usurpers, We, the People, are their worst enemy.

Tempus fugit and all that -- so here's my December appearance on the Audrey Russo Show, the last one for 2022.

We have a new "Rosenbergs." His name, or its name, is Hunter Biden's laptop. Like "the Rosenbergs," the "Hunter Biden Laptop" is is a touchstone, or, better, a catchall for all existential national security threats that struck at this nation to the Coup of 2020, in which the presidential election was stolen from the People in a conspiracy so immense. We can't talk about that conspiracy, we can't talk about the coup that installed an illegitimate regime run by we know not what power. But we can talk about the HB Laptop. And now, with a gusher of false scent, Elon Musk's Twitter has "leaked" -- released -- the Hunter Biden Laptop Story.  Look that-away, sheeple, and only that-away, sheeple. From American Betrayal, pp. 95-99

Two extraordinary and very different works by journalist Eugene Lyons take us a little closer to the answer. One is The Red Decade (1941), “an informal account of Bolshevism in our country,” as he described it, and the other is Assignment in Utopia (1937), his memoir of his personal odyssey from committed fellow traveler of Communism...

The following is a column by the late Vladimir Bukovsky, which ran in the Ukrainian publication Gordon back in June 2016. The English translation is courtesy Gates of Vienna.

In this essay, Bukovsky attempts to re-introduce the human brain to the notion that life is not simply a choice between the binarian Either/Or -- either Russia / or NATO.

As recent events show, he was not successful -- although his arguments made all the sense in the world.

Not that the world wants to make sense.

American Betrayal includes an unforgettable "lost" scene from our past: when Rep. Martin Dies, the founding chairman (1938) of the House Un-American Activities Committee, runs into Sen. Joseph McCarthy shortly before McCarthy began his investigations into rampant Communist subversion of the federal government in 1950.

This meeting is recounted in a section of Chapter 3 recounting the deep bitterness of the investigators, such as House Committe on Un-American Activities' Robert E. Stripling, and the witnesses, such as Whittaker Chambers, who labored to expose the secret, massive Moscow-directed intelligence army of traitors that, in effect, occupied the halls of power in Washington (London, Berlin, Tokyo, Paris ...). For their efforts -- for which history still hasn't caught up with the record and rewarded them -- they were vilified by poisonous Communist-led smear campaigns. This they were never prepared for.

One of the most salacious displays of J6 Porn as purveyed by our tormentors is the war cry "Kill him with his own gun." These are the words DC-cop-turned-CNN-pundit Michael Fanone claims he heard chanted, screamed at him by a surging crowd of protestors -- "insurrectionists" -- at the US Capitol on January 6, 2021, the day Congress rubber-stamped the presidential election stolen from the People on November 3, 2020. As far as I know, no recording of this alleged chant has ever aired; just Fanone's account of it.
