Hackle-raising headline of the week: "Feds Suggest Anti-Muslim Speech Can Be Punished"

Politico ran the story on May 31, picking up on this May 21 story from the Tullahoma (TN) News: "Group sets meeting to increase tolerance of Muslims, culture."

The only way to accomplish such a goal in the USA where liberty -- freedom of religion, freedom of conscience, freedom of speech, equal protection under the law -- is protected by our founding documents is to prevent Americans from learning that Islamic law specifically forbids and punishes the exercise of such freedoms.

Fact: there is no freedom of religion under Islamic law; there is only a capricious "tolerance" for the dhimmi (Christians and Jews in Islam) that controls and constrains religious identity to a punishing and humiliating degree, often leading to death. Fact: there is no freedom of speech, either, with critics and students of Islam subject to charges of apostasy and blasphemy, often leading to death. Fact: there is no equal protection under Islamic law. Islam is a supremacist creed, where Muslims and men command greater legal and social power than non-Muslims and women.

Why is the US government out to increase "tolerance" of all that?

The answer is complex -- something frequently wrestled with at this site (and in my new book American Betrayal) -- but one reason we must grapple with is many people in high positions of the US government have "turned," been "turned," or are "turning," often without knowing it. (For more on that gruesome subject, see this column on Joint Chiefs Chairman Martin Dempsey, "Invasion of the Body Snatchers -- For Real). Subject to the drip, drip of barely watered down Marx  since kindergarten, too many Americans have been conditioned to accept and defend ideological fantasies, whether seventh century in origins or 19th.

How can we tell when our officials, for whatever reason, are on (or might as well be on) the "other side"?

First, when they don't tell the truth, whether about Communism in the past or about Islam in the present. In other words, when they become propagandists for one or the other totalitarian, collectivist creeds.

Second, when they seek to ostracize and punish those who do tell the truth.

Once upon a time, for example, Communist realists were purged by the Roosevelt White House. Today, for example, Islam-realist trainers are purged by the Bush and Obama White Houses.

Now, the rest of us are being targeted.

Remember: First, they came for the Islam trainers .... (See, for example, "Eloi R Us" and "Eric Holder, Meet John Quincy Adams.)

Then, the Obama Justice Department "reached out" to Muslim brothers who pushed for "a legal declaration that U.S. citizens’ criticism of Islam constitutes racial discrimination." (See "First Amendment, Schmirst Amendment.")

Now, we have a report that the US attorney for eastern Tennessee will be taking it to the people in a June 4 meeting.

A special meeting has been scheduled for the stated purpose of increasing awareness and understanding that American Muslims are not the terrorists some have made them out to be in social media and other circles.

“Public Disclosure in a Diverse Society” will be held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 4, at the Manchester-Coffee County Conference Center, 147 Hospitality Blvd.

Special speakers for the event will be Bill Killian, U.S. attorney for the Eastern District of Tennessee, and Kenneth Moore, special agent in charge of the FBI’s Knoxville Division.

Sponsor of the event is the American Muslim Advisory Council of Tennessee — a 15-member board formed two years ago when the General Assembly was considering passing legislation that would restrict those who worship Sharia Law, which is followed by Muslims.

Killian and Moore will provide input on how civil rights can be violated by those who post inflammatory documents targeted at Muslims on social media.
