Congratulations to the Bush administration!!!!

Finally, lo, these many years after 9/11, it has completely eradicated Jihad, the Muhajideen, Jihadis, Jihadists,  Islamic Terrorists, Islamists, Holy Warriors, and even Islamo-fascism (whatever that is) least from the government lexicon, that is.

In a NUTshell, the Homeland Security gag order--I mean, report--(entitled "Terminology to Define the Terrorists: Recommendations from American Muslims") put it this way:"We should not concede the terrorists' claim that they are legitimate adherents of Islam."

In other words, in Homeland Security's analysis, there is no Jihad (Muhajideen, Jihadis, Jihadists,  Islamic Terrorists, Islamists, etc.) in Islam. Or, as I put it in my book, Jihad is from Mars and Islam is from Venus. And you know what that means: It's Abu Qatada Time.

As some readers may know, I never miss an opportunity to quote Abu Qatada, Osama bin Laden's favorite imam. Here, again, are his immortal words that came out years ago in response to one of President Bush's many sermons preaching that Islam is a religion of peace containing no justification for jihad violence:

"I am astonished by President Bush when he claims there is nothing in the Koran that justifies jihad or violence in the name of Islam. Is he some kind of Islamic scholar? Has he ever actually read the Koran?"

Tell it to Homeland Security, Abu.

More righteous indignation here from the excellent Andy McCarthy--who, not at all incidentally, has a humdinger of a new book out--Willful Blindness: A Memoir of the Jihad--relating his searing experiences as prosecutor of the blind sheik and others responsible for the 1993 attack on the World Trade Center. (Hey Andy: You'll have to change your book's sibtitle to "Memoir of the Radical Extremism" to stay Kosher with the feds....!)

More analysis here from the excellent  Robert Spencer, who actually broke the gag order story a couple of days ago.
