An extremely nice shout-out via Twitter as the good ship free speech goes down and patriots are outlawed in the America they resoundingly delivered to President Trump in the stolen election of 2020.

It comes from Richard Poe, a co-author of David Horowitz, and thus especially notable because Horowitz made a decision in 2013 to sacrifice his reputation in an attempt to destroy mine, and, more important, my book, American Betrayal.

As the late M. Stanton Evans explained:

Especially galling to West's critics is her contention that Washington in the war years was so riddled with Communists and Soviet agents as to be in effect an "occupied" city  -- an image that seems to have sparked the greatest anger and most denunciation of her thesis.

Denunication of this thesis by self-professed former communists, that is.

By using the "occupied" image, Ms. West is of course not saying Soviet tanks were patrolling the streets of Washington, or that Red martial law was imposed on its cowering citizens.  What she is arguing instead is that Soviet agents, Communists and fellow travelers held official posts, or served at chokepoints of intelligence data, and from these positions were able to exert pro-Soviet leverage on U.S. and other allied policy.  Though ignored in many conventional histories, the evidence to support this view is overwhelming.

Had so many conservatives and their outlets not been pressed into group-denunciation or silence about American Betrayal, is it possible we might all have been a little more alert to and even better equipped to understand and thwart the rolling coup d'etat against Donald Trump by communist and globalist forces?

I think it's at least possible. It seemed pretty clear at the time that the overwhelming force of the attacks on American Betrayal were not only an effort to stop me in my tracks, but to make other sure other writers shied away from the "lost history" territory I had wandered into, and to make its eye-opening riches about the wars that anti-communists fought here, in this country, nothing less than radioactive.

The beneficiaries of all of this toxic disinformation, of course, then and now, are communists and subversives out to destroy our remnant Republic. They are the last people to want Americans to understand the Deep State's roots in the communist "occupation" of Washington under FDR, which only continued to expand across the decades into the Swamp we know and drown in today. They are the last people to want Americans to discover their "lost" anti-communist heroes, repetitiously demonized by generations of communists, pro-communists and what they used to call anti-anti-communists, and thus taken from us, even as we need to learn from and be inspired by them more than any other generation of Americans.

It was an important mission for the other side, and it was accomplished.
