Twenty-one-years ago today, I woke up before the rest of the household, as was customary, and went to my desk to write (ditto). I did not go online to scan the news, which was unusual. I was working on an editorial for the Washington Times which I needed to bat out quickly and without distraction. The morning unfolded in happy clamor. I got the dog walked, the kids to school, all in a state of ignorance about how it was that the world had changed.
Heading back home, I passed a neighbor who answered my greeting with a long face -- she later told me she realized instantly I "didn't know yet." I knew nothing about September 11 yet except that it was a gorgeously fine day.
Then, a little later, maybe simultanesouly hearing my husband's shout and seeing the above Drudge Report headline, I knew.
But what did I know? The first tower was had just come down. A state of shock gripped the world and all its beings with access to this horrific news. Had the world ever before been stopped in its tracks so simultanesouly, and with nearly universal effect?
Not since covid, not since 9/11, not since JFK, not since Pearl Harbor, not since --
"Who did this?" asked Drudge. The answer was at the ready: Osama bin Laden did this. Three massive skyscrapers turned to dust. With two planes. Really?
I don't think so; not anymore.
In case you missed it, Building 7 of the WTC was the third building to go down in lower Manhattan on September 11. Richard Gage, founder of Architects & Engineers for 9/11 Truth, who discusses 9/11 and Building 7's incredible collapse with Stew Peters here, notes that the video of what looks like the controlled demolition of a 47-storey-building, did not air on mainstream media. This omission was crucial to the 9/11 narrative as it emerged because even a layman can perceive the absurdity of the government-media explanation, which tells that fires from debris falling from the Twin Towers turned this third skyscraper in the World Trade Center complex into dust, bringing it down completely, inside its own footprint, in seven seconds.
How that government-media explanation evolved into the One True Narrative is the subject of a comprehensive and important new research paper on 9/11 by Graeme MacQueen and Ted Walter: "How the TV Networks Hid the Twin Towers’ Demolition on 9/11," which may be found here at Off-Guardian.
The authors write:
This article is the second installment of a two-part research project we began in July 2020 with the article “How 36 Reporters Brought Us the Twin Towers’ Explosive Demolition on 9/11.”
In that article, our goal was to determine the prevalence, among television reporters on 9/11, of the hypothesis that explosions had brought down the Twin Towers.
Through careful review of approximately 70 hours of news coverage on 11 different channels, we found that the explosion hypothesis was not only common among reporters but was, in fact, the dominant hypothesis.
Our second question, which we set aside for the present article, was to determine how, despite its prevalence, the explosion hypothesis was supplanted by the hypothesis of fire-induced collapse.
In this article, we shall concentrate not on reporters in the field, as in Part 1, but on the news anchors and their guests who were tasked with discovering and making sense of what was happening. As we trace the supplanting of the explosion hypothesis with the fire-induced collapse hypothesis, we witness the great shift toward what quickly became the Official Narrative.
We do not see our task as trying to discover whether the Official Narrative of 9/11 is true or false. In the 21 years since the attacks took place, it has been proven beyond all reasonable doubt, we believe, that the Official Narrative is false.
While we support and participate in the further accumulation of evidence for this position, as well as the presentation of this evidence to the public, we believe it is also important to look into how the triumph of the Official Narrative was accomplished.
If we are able to discover this, we will greatly advance our understanding of the psychological operation conducted on September 11, 2001 — and, thus, our understanding of how other psychological operations are perpetrated on the public.
